The “Retired Women’s Club of
Monsanto/Solutia” is a group of Lady Retirees from Monsanto and Solutia whose
friendships have continued on from the beginning of the club. Virginia Polen, Adele Wolf and Hazel
Gilstrap were instrumental in the organization of the group that began somewhere
in the late 70s. Retirees from
operations in St. Louis, Queeny, Chesterfield, Creve Coeur, Houston, and
Solutia in Maryland Heights, are active in our membership at this time. If we have missed an area or group, please
let us know.
The
group of Monsanto/Solutia retired ladies meet on the third Wednesday of
every month between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. We occupy a private dining room
adjacent to the Employee’s Cafeteria in “A” Building on the Monsanto
East Campus. Our Buffet Luncheon is
catered by Guckenheimers who serves the “A” Building Cafeteria. The menu includes a meat entrée,
potatoes/rice, 2 vegetables, 3 salads, beverages and cookies for dessert. Buffet is $15.00 person.
The Calling Committee of six ladies
contacts each of our 90 members every month as a reminder of the upcoming
luncheon. The names of those attending
are furnished to the Caterer. Ladies
enter via the “A” Lobby, and after signing in are escorted via elevator to the
dining room.
Special topics of interest related
to the retirees are greatly accepted by the group. Other suggestions also make for an entertaining afternoon
luncheon.
We welcome all retired ladies of
Monsanto/Solutia to attend.
